Tarzana Treatment Centers & UC San Diego Health To Discuss New Models Of Primary Care In CalAIM In Upcoming OPEN MINDS Circle Elite Executive Roundtable

|

Gettysburg, Pa. (October 2, 2022) Jim Sorg, Ph.D., Director of Care Integration and Information Technology for Tarzana Treatment Centers and Mary Parra, MPH, FACHE, Practice Manager Internal Medicine with UC San Diego Health, will present The New Role For Primary Care Under CalAIM at the November 17, OPEN MINDS Circle Elite Executive Roundtable. This presentation will be discussing the role of primary care in two different approaches for the delivery of integrated services. In this live webinar attendees will learn the differences between a behaviorally-led integrated care model and a primary care-led integrated care model, both serving the often times complex treatment and coordinated care needs of Medi-Cal beneficiaries.

“Primary care is rapidly expanding to a new whole-person integrated care service delivery model to treat everything from behavioral health to long-term medical conditions,” said OPEN MINDS Chief Executive Officer, Monica E. Oss. “As the marketplace continues to evolve it becomes more crucial for provider organizations to understand the increasing demands that accompany person centered care coming from both consumers and payer organizations.”

The health and human services field is evolving, and nowhere more than in California with the implementation of the CalAIM initiative and system wide transformation to value. Specialty provider organizations and payers have begun to address emerging changes through aligned payer-provider goals and are turning to the lessons learned from California’s whole person care pilots in previous years. Focus on person-centered care approaches for the delivery of coordinated and integrated care is growing as a model for achieving optimal outcomes for Medicaid (Medi-Cal) consumers with complex conditions.

Executive attendees of this session will learn about the new role of primary care as part of whole person care service delivery for persons with behavioral health and medical conditions in the emerging CalAIM system transformation and the two types of integrated care approaches: a behaviorally-led integrated primary care model versus a primary care-led integrated behavioral health services model. The session will also help provide an understanding of the growing public and private payer demand for person-centered and integrated care services that improve client outcomes to reduce the utilization and cost of intensive levels of care.

This one-hour session will be moderated by Richard Louis, III, OPEN MINDS Vice President – Western Region. To register for the 1:00 p.m. ET, November 17 event, visit https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/9162136258268350991.
