The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a partner to facilitate a comprehensive at-home care platform. The contractor will collaborate with UAMS in bearing financial risk to further population health goals, assessing integrated delivery of care within the UAMS accountable care organization (ACO) and negotiate favorable payer contracts through demonstrable lower total cost of care and high quality. The services delivered through the partnership platform include acuteālevel hospital care at home, palliative care at home, and skilled nursing facility at home.
To identify a partner, UAMS released a request for proposals (RFP 2022ā0031) on January 9, 2022, with proposals due by January 28, 2022. Awards are anticipated by February 7, 2022, and the contract is anticipated to start by March 1, 2022. The one-year base term will be followed by the option for four one-year renewals. Services will be reimbursed at cost, but the RFP did not state the estimated contract value.
UAMS is the stateās only academic health center. It is part of a statewide network of post-secondary education institutions of the University of Arkansas System. The UAMS Medical Center is a 450-bed Level 1 trauma center. UAMS Health is a network of statewide area health education centers, clinics, advanced telehealth programs, and multiple institutes of specialty care.
