On September 22, 2021, the MENTOR Network announced it had rebranded as Sevita Health, and had entered a joint venture that intends to launch a national chain of integrated virtual health clinics. The joint venture is called Kramer Davis. The Kramer Davis clinic will provide interdisciplinary medical care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
The rebranding from MENTOR Network to Sevita Health is intended to reflect the organization’s service line expansion and its focus on whole person, integrated care for individuals with disabilities. Previously, the MENTOR Network provided only home- and community-based services (HCBS) for people with disabilities.
For its future plans, Kramer Davis is considering opening clinic locations in several states. The clinic locations will be selected based on the most favorable policy environment to support the quality of care and the sophisticated data systems and payment structures needed to provide holistic, preventive, and supportive care for people with I/DD.
The Kramer Davis clinic will provide medical, dental, psychiatric, behavioral, neurological, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutrition, and other services. The clinic workflow will be designed specifically for people with I/DD and will encourage clinical professionals to work together and avoid delivering siloed care. The virtual services will include after-hours virtual assessments for people at risk of going to the emergency room. In selected areas, the clinic will provide several in-home medical services with mobile support. The clinic will leverage both in-person and virtual capabilities tied to a custom built, I/DD-focused electronic health record (EHR) allowing clinical staff to meet consumers where they are most comfortable, while expanding access to broader geographies.
Additionally, the Kramer Davis clinic will provide clinical training and education. The training opportunities include a broad range of options, from an informal phone conversation to a virtual discussion for small groups, to creating year-long fellowships for the next generation of clinical professionals who want to specialize in this field. For families and caregivers, the Kramer Davis clinic will spend extra time focusing on individual needs of consumers. The clinic will also provide engagement with the I/DD community and conduct population health efforts.
The first Kramer Davis clinic location is planned for Nashville, Tennessee. No launch date has been announced.
